The technique used for A Moose for all Seasons is Buggy Barn, which uses a block pattern traced onto freezer paper, applied to the top of an artfully arranged stack of contrasting fabrics, and cut into pieces.  Certain pieces are then shuffled resulting in each block having a different set of fabrics.  The blocks are usually quite large and turn out "wonky" when sewn together because no seam allowances are applied to the pattern.
